General Pediatrics

Michalia is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner who grew up in Western New York. She earned her Bachelor of Art degree in Neuroscience from Boston University. Michalia then attended the University of South Florida to complete her Master's in Medical Science. Upon graduating, she assisted in the development of the NICU Follow Up Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and was later recruited to the NICU GraDS Program at Boston Children’s Hospital. Michalia was inspired to pursue a career in nursing and attended MGH Institute of Health Professions for her BS and MS in Nursing, completing the majority of her clinical hours for her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner training in the Boston area including Massachusetts General Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital.

Michalia enjoys all aspects of pediatric medicine, and currently continues to work at the MGH Newborn Follow Up/Developmental Specialty Clinic providing developmental focused care for former preterm and medically complex infants. Her philosophy is to provide holistic, patient centered-care that utilizes evidence-based practice and strives to promote a healthcare environment that is therapeutic and respectful of all human beings from birth to young adulthood. She is passionate about patient education and support of all families to better understand their child’s health. Her hobbies include spending time with family, construction projects and collecting children’s books.
